Acceleraate, a UK-based specialist in customer experience technology and Zoom CX solutions, is proud to announce its official sponsorship of rising British freestyle wrestling talent, Freya O’Connor.
Based in northwest England, Freya is already establishing herself as one of the most exciting young prospects in UK wrestling. Despite her age, she has built an exceptional competitive record, including:
Two-time British Champion
Two-time English Champion
Irish Champion
Two-time Majorca Open Champion
Gold medallist at Helsinki Open
In addition to her success in freestyle wrestling, Freya has recently expanded her skillset into Greco-Roman wrestling, making an immediate impact by securing a silver medal at an international competition in March 2026.
This rapid progression has seen Freya welcomed into the Team GB pathway, marking a significant milestone in her journey towards elite international competition.
Alongside her national training commitments, Freya continues to train locally with Aspull Warriors Wrestling Club under the guidance of experienced coach Chris Hoban, where she is further developing her technical ability, discipline, and competitive edge.
Investing in potential
Acceleraate’s sponsorship will provide financial support to help fund the realities of being an emerging athlete in a non-funded sport. This includes:
Travel to national and international competitions
Training camps and development opportunities
Equipment and kit
Ongoing costs associated with elite-level progression
For many athletes like Freya, success at this level requires not only talent and dedication but also access to resources that are often self-funded.
A shared mindset
Matt Cowell, Co-Founder and CRO at Acceleraate, commented:
Freya represents everything we admire: Discipline, ambition, and a relentless drive to improve. At Acceleraate, we talk a lot about outcomes, not just potential. Freya is already delivering at an elite level, and we’re excited to support her as she pushes towards the next stage of her journey. This isn’t just about sponsorship; it’s about backing people who are prepared to put the work in and go further.
Looking ahead
With national titles already secured and international success under her belt, Freya’s trajectory is clear. The focus now turns to continued development within the Team GB setup, gaining experience on the international stage, and building towards future major competitions, with long-term ambitions of Olympic representation.
Acceleraate will be supporting Freya throughout this journey and will be sharing updates on her progress along the way.
